run as fast as i can....... (Lindisfarne)
well actually I didn't run as fast as I could to get home, I'd just finished my first 10km race, after 33.4 miles on the Saturday & a Monday rest day I was wondering if I could break the 45 minute barrier, that was my goal in my first attempt at the distance - I got round in 43.41 so was very pleased with that, it's a tough distance you have to run faster than normal pace & you don't get any rest, won't rush to do it again, but if i can break 43.30 that's sub 7 min miling so something to aim for ?
First time I have run home from a race, just 3 miles from my doorstep. With £3.00 in my pocket the choice was get the bus home or have a pint & run home, I went for the latter - a good choice :) Got to meet some fetchies - aka billy & sparkly bridget, plus Tim from the club & Mr Bbiggs was there too, couldn't let the old boy beat me but didn't finish much ahead of him, a minute perhaps ?
The title was very nearly "spit it out" by whitesnake, last week I ran an hour after a spicy Chinese & ran quickly but my stomach wasn't greatly happy, got home & threw up to the sounds of spit it out by Whitesnake - that ipod can read my mind - it had 1500 songs to randomly choose & picked that one !!
Counting the days until the end of the month with my fingers crossed for that 10 in 10 in '10 place & being able to throw myself into the fundraising head first.
Keep on running
foxy !!!
Hey hey, finally got a chance to read through your blog, amazing!
ReplyDeleteAfter saying I doubt I would ever do the 10 in 10 I feel quite inspired and its something I would like to try, albeit a few years down the line!
