Up the Junction !!

Finishing today was indeed a bit of a Squeeze - LOL !!!

Today was the Bedford Clanger a 27 mile race in & around Bedford, mostly off road but with some sections in more built up areas. A well organised race with lots of cake at the checkpoints & finished off with the local delicacy a Bedfordshire Clanger - similar to a sausage roll, but one end pork & the other apple :)

I was very lucky today to be accompanied by my very good friends Allan(Ogee) & Michael from Dunstable & I really needed their support out there today, I struggled, I knew I was injured so had eased off in the past few days & as with Punchbowl a month ago I was fine for about 18 miles but then the hamstring / thigh went again & the final 9 miles was tough as I was basically running on one leg dragging the other one behind me, not the most comfortable of a marathons for me but another one chalked up on the scorecard.

I was spoilt for choice on today's title, but the title came to me as we reached a Junction in Clapham (Beds) & subsequently discussed the classic track by Squeeze. Other thoughts today were - "Another one bites the dust" by Queen & as we airplaned across the finish "Broken Wings" by Mr Mister (more broken landing gear than wings !!! LOL !!)"Something for the pain" by Bon Jovi & the "I'll be there for you" (from Friends) as my friends were indeed there for me today. The final choice was gonna be "Talking about the Bedford Clanger" - sung to the tune of "Midnight Rambler" by the Rolling Stones !! (I know I should get out more !!)

Today's champagne moment was for the other 2 Musketeers Allan & Michael - one for all & all for one :)

keep on hobbling !!
