"Woooooaaah we're half way there.......

Woooooooaaaah Livin' on a prayer !!" as Bon Jovi onces sang !!

I am indeed now half way to my "holy grail" of 100 marathons.

What a fantastic weekend I had down in Cornwall, the 6 & half hours on the train was worth it.

The weather was awful, it was windy along the North Cliffs which we had to face twice, with miles upto 50 mph, Mary Poppins would have had a PB !! (but i'd forgot my brolly & don't have Julie Andews Singing voice, although possibly a better Cockney accent than Dick Van Dyke !!). We had rain & hail & even a bit of sun thrown in at the end, the conditions were truly brutal & the worst i had ever encountered on a road marathon.

I got through half way in 1 hour 46 mins & managed 8 minute miling from that point, with 4 miles to go I could see if i upped the pace 3 hours 30 minutes was a possibility but I really had to dig deep & throw in 7 minute miles over the last 4. Very pleased to break 3 hours 30 minutes for only the 6th time in 50 races & it was also my 30th time under 4 hours.

Following the event I shared Champagne with a few of the 100 club members & handed over my membership fee to join as a wanabee member - just 50 to go before I can pull on the t-shirt (like the Master green jacket not that many get to wear it) The champagne was accompanied by a local delicacy - A home made cornish pasty - what else ?!!

Fellow 10 in 10 participants Adam Holland & Steve edwards had splendid times of 3.06 & 3.11 finishing 6th & 12th respectivly, especially good times given the tough conditions.

Bring on the next 50 - Next Stop the Shakespeare marathon on April 26th - hope I'm not "BARD" - LOL !!

Fox on the Run :)
